An Apprenticeship Agreement is a formal contract between an employer and an apprentice that outlines the terms and conditions of the apprenticeship. It confirms the apprentice’s employment, training arrangements, job role, pay, and working hours. The agreement also specifies the qualification or standard being worked toward and the duration of the apprenticeship. It ensures that both parties understand their commitments — the employer provides structured training and supervision, while the apprentice commits to learning and performing their duties responsibly.

When the apprenticeship is completed, the agreement automatically ends unless the employer offers continued employment. Upon successful completion, the apprentice receives a recognised qualification or certification. Employers may choose to offer a permanent role based on performance, business needs, and available opportunities. If the apprenticeship ends early, standard employment and training regulations apply, and both parties should follow the agreed notice and termination procedures.
