A Stage 2 outcome is part of the company’s formal long-term sickness review process. It means your situation has been reviewed again, and while support will continue, the company must also begin considering the long-term impact of your absence. The goal remains to support your recovery and return to work, but if this is not possible, the process may move to Stage 3.
You will remain under review for the agreed monitoring period. During this time, you should continue to provide medical updates and keep in regular contact with your manager. If there is no significant change in your ability to return to work, the company may arrange a Stage 3 meeting to discuss possible outcomes, including medical redeployment or, as a last resort, capability dismissal.
